A champion of social justice,an eminent jurist VR Krishna Iyer engineered the concept of the justice on the doorsteps of the common men.He always remained in the service of humanity. M.P.R. Nayar edited a book JUSTICE KRISHNA IYER AT 90 which was published by Universal Law publishing company private limited and foreworded by Justice K.T. Thomas ,former Judge, Supreme Court of India. In the above mentioned book an eminent jurist Soli J. Sorabji quoted very interesting and inspiring incident that, ”Within a few days of Mr. Krishna Iyer’s appointment I had occasiion to appear before a Bench of which he was a member. I wondered how he would react to a person whose signature happened to be the first in the letter protesting against his appointment. The experience was rather flay and uneventful. He did not give me a hard or sizing-up look, nor did he assume a distant or sarcastic manner. He behaved as if he knew nothing of the letter, and was genuinely not affected by it at all…. Mr. Iyer has a heart whose natural generosity and growing warmth would scorch out any trace of malice or meanness. He cannot nurture a grudge towards anyone, including unkind critics who have approached him with singular lack of humility and understanding and who in learned tomes have raged and raged against the spreading light.” He always worked for the DARIDRANARAYANS hence he is the greatest humanist of the century.The land mark decisions delivered by justice Krishna Iyer laid the foundation of the India’s constitutional history.Born 15 november 1915,Justice Krishna Iyer elected as a member of the Madras Legislative assembly in the yer 1952 and was elected to the Kerala Legislative assembly in the year 1957.Appointed as a judge of the Kerala High Court in the year 1968 and remained the Judge of the Supreme Court of India between 1973 and 1980.Every citizen of India salute this great personality.
